The Radio LUMS society is a labour of love by a group of enthusiastic Luminities, all of whom embody a passion for the many ways radio can be utilised to do good in, and for, the society at large.
Ali is a senior at LUMS studying English Literature and History. He has written for local magazines and has worked with Dawn News as a sub-editor. Ali is a radio enthusiast whose interests involve experimental fiction, foreign cinema, and anime. Currently he is studying modernist fiction in Urdu and hopes to develop immersive and interactive bilingual shows for Radio LUMS that offer newer perspectives on current issues of everyday life.
From avidly reading ‘Weapons of Mass Instruction’ to ‘مثنوئِ رومیؒ’, from enjoying ‘Alice in Wonderland’ to ‘طلسمِ ہوشرُبا’, from being lost inside of ‘Paradise Lost’ to ‘دیوانِ غالب’, Kamran has always been a diverse soul. While he has experience in the telecom sector and while he is currently preparing for a future in education; Kamran’s friends have always considered him old school and poetic because of his fondness for the Urdu language.
I’m Manal Mohsin and I’m Marketing Executive at Radio LUMS. I’m an Anthro/Socio Sophomore and I spend most of my (non-existent) free time making us look really good. But if you take a look at our team, you’ll know I don’t have to try very hard 😉 Stay tuned for exciting updates from our brand new society!
Hi! I’m Qais Saleem and I’m your Editor for Radio LUMS. I'm an SDSB freshman, who like the rest of the council is a massive radio-head (love the breakfast club interviews) and podcast fan (Who doesn't enjoy JRE?). Apart from that, I hope that my love for Urdu literature and language truly reflects in the content we will be producing at Radio LUMS; trying to pump out shows that are going to be both intellectually stimulating and entertaining for those khokha chai sessions or just something to chill to during those long car rides.
I’m Mohammad Hussain Qazi and I am the Treasurer at Radio LUMS. I’m a Law Junior and one thing that you should know about me is that curiosity is what drives me. Questioning established traditions and precedents, I have followed a path unknown to many.
I am Momal Saman, widely known as ‘plant’ in WhatsApp groups! I am a Political Science Sophomore with a minor in Education, and I shall be serving as Vice President of Radio LUMS during 2021-22. I am a Sialkoti by birth so the ‘city of our national poet’ has given me the gift of poetry writing. I love Big Boss and reality shows with a lot of drama in them, which justifies my love for acting.
I am Abdul Majid Lali and I'm a rising sophomore at SAHSOL and going to act in the capacity of RJ (Urdu Program) at Radio LUMS. I like doing literally anything as long as it’s not sitting alone. These days I am interested in horse-riding , travelling and gossiping of course. I can have a healthy debate on politics/ social issues with you any time of the day. I would love to intrigue you all with my discourse on current affairs.
I am Abdul Moeez, a rising HSS junior. I am enthusiastic about poetry, music, and almost all types of arts; anything that is antique or thought provoking. People say I should have been born at least a century ago. I am super excited to be a part of Radio LUMS and looking forward to engaging with you all in some really interesting discussions through an even nostalgic medium such as Radio itself!
My name is Khadija Tahir and I’m a Junior at Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences. I have penchant for the colour blue and pop music. I also help run a world news podcast and my show for Radio LUMS is similar.
My name is Injeel Abdul Aziz, I'm an incoming Sophomore studying Politics at Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences. My love for foreign affairs and art defines me, but my devotion to niche films sets me apart. At least, in my head it does!
